What actually drew me to The Odyssey of Time was world-building. The visual effects were amazing, taking me into landscapes that were futuristic and alien as well as awe-inspiring together. While it keeps one’s heart beating with its action pieces, it does the same thing with that rich and deep emotional core, a core built upon human resilience and will to survive. It reminds of all the issues our earth is currently facing after watching this movie.

Animation wakes the hearts of children and adults alike-from Pixar to DreamWorks. 2024’s animated ones are going to add stunning visuals along with heartwarming stories.

• Conjuring: The Devil’s Game-the new chapter in the Conjuring universe sends the viewers into the haunting world of paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren.

Little more can be said of this film except that the emotional layers of The Last Stand were pounded and heart-pounding, no. Nolan is known for complex characters and does not really stray from that expectation for this film. Michael B. Jordan could play a man torn between duty and personal sacrifice so well that I was fully invested in the outcome. And it reminds me why I loved action films: action doing its thing but also working for something else-that is, spectacle and substance balanced on top of one another.

• Saw XI More gore, more twisted, more traps. The franchise will take the series one step forward.
